This oil is CI-4 but meets or exceeds API CH-4, CG-4, CF-4, CF/SJ, the Global DHD-1 specification and all major diesel engine manufacturers.

Note regarding warning in Yanmar owners manual not to use API Service Category CG-4 or CH-4 oils: - CG-4 and CH-4 are an older specifications of oil no longer commonly available today. Yanmar 15W40 oil is a API CI-4 class oil. CI-4 exceeds the older CG-4 and CH-4 specification. Therefore engines requiring CG-4 and CH-4 are able to use this oil.
